In medieval times, Alchemists studied Sulphur and its properties. In their famous quest to turn common metals into gold, they were also in search of other properties such as the 'elixir of life' or the secret to living forever. It was Sixteenth century Dutch Alchemists who first stumbled across the process that changes Sulphur from being an insoluble, non-bioavaliable metalloid into highly bio-available oil. This oil, known today as Haarlem Oil is still made at the Lefevre Family Laboratory (The only Laboratory that makes Haarlem Oil) using the same process exactly as the Alchemists of the Sixteenth Century some 400 years ago.

The Alchemists studied Sulphur not really knowing what would happen. It was more of an observation. They had no references and only had fire to work with. They couldn't even record a temperature; there were no thermometers. From the documentation we have and as far as we know it took the Alchemists 50 Years research at the School for Alchemy in Haarlem in Holland to arrive at the formula known as Haarlem Oil. In fact, during their discoveries, as they tried, a little bit here, a little bit there, on family, friends, neighbours, it was noticed the product improved bronchial problems and arthritic problems and gave people an improved general health. They noticed peoples' respiration improved and certain illnesses cured, and people enjoyed better health.

Haarlem Oil is 16% sulphur. Its origins date back 400years. In the 1980's it was proven highly bio-available. It is stable, and is a powerful antioxidant S.O.D. In the 1990's studies of the molecular structure measured the purity of Haarlem Oil sulphur up to the highest S8. Haarlem Oil works to treat and maintain a range of conditions because the body uses Sulphur in the lungs to turn oxygen from foe to friend; uses Sulphur in the liver to fine tune its efficiency and improve energy; uses Sulphur to maintain strength and flexibility in all cells; uses S.O.D. to mop up damaged cells and keep a youthful appearance; and uses Linseed oil to assist in hormone balance and detoxification.

Haarlem Oil History

The Oils of Haarlem first appeared late in the XV1 century and their history is embedded in Dutch Alchemy. The usage spread very quickly throughout all of Europe thanks to the support and actions of the famous Medieval Doctor Boerhave. Monsieur Thomas, Chemist, first marketed this product in France in 1924. The Thomas Laboratory was one of the first French Pharmaceutical Laboratories. We are all indebted to his son in law, Doctor J. Lefevre, Medical Doctor, Pharmacist and Intern of the Paris Hospital for the first scientific studies. In pace with bio-scientific development further studies have been conducted including in the 1980s 'Bio-availability', in the 1990s Purity and this product with over 400 years efficacy remains at the top of the list of natural Sulphur treatments.
